Intentional Peer Support (IPS)
What is Intentional Peer Support?
Simply stated, IPS is a way for creating space where all people can learn and grow together.
Connection is being together for the purpose of being seen and heard. You know you’ve made a connection when you get that sense of belonging … an awareness of feeling united to something or someone.
Worldview is being together for the purpose of being understood. It is being aware of how we have learned to think about our experiences, while at the same time being curious and taking interest in the worldview of others.
Mutuality is being together for the purpose of being known. It is the sharing of responsibility and effort so we can enjoy the experience of being part of something bigger than ourselves.
Moving toward is being together for the purpose of being fulfilled. It is the sharing of dreams and desires so we can grow into the best positive version of ourselves.
Hope-Based Conversations
We create space so that the possibilities for breaking old patterns and creating new opportunities become endless.
We Purposely Engage in Hope-Based Conversation.
Intentional Peer Support is a valuable tool in your mental health toolbox.
It is warm, relational, and provides the kind of support that leaves you genuinely feeling connected.
